Pantry's Realm

Minecraft: Bedrock Edition multiplayer server

This is an informational article about a community Minecraft server. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Mojang Studios or Microsoft.

Pantry's Realm is a public Minecraft: Bedrock Edition survival multiplayer server. ponStudios is the studio behind it. It began on July 27, 2024 as a private world shared by three friends and grew into a long running "forever world" before opening to the public on August 31, 2026. The server is semi-vanilla, keeps Minecraft achievements enabled, and runs on Hard difficulty.

Pantry's Realm is known for a player driven society in which members found their own countries, claim and protect land, and trade through an in game economy. Transport is fully vanilla, with no teleports, so roads and bridges connect the world. Most of the server's non vanilla systems are reached through a menu driven interface called the Realm Hub. The server is free to play and describes itself as free of pay-to-win.

History

The UVMCN Tower
The UVMCN Tower, built at the center of the United Villages of Minecraft.

The world was created on July 27, 2024 by three friends, ponchis201, ilovepugz88 and BellaElyse14, after the server they normally played on went offline. They were playing on Minecraft Realms at the time, which is the origin of the "Pantry's Realm" name. The group expected the world to be temporary, but it became the long running server it is today.

Bella and Pugz's house
Bella and Pugz's house, from the very first days of the world.

In the early days, while BellaElyse14 and ilovepugz88 built a house together, ponchis201 set out to found a city with a tall central tower and a surrounding wall. He traveled thousands of blocks from the spawn island, found a small plains village, walled it in cobblestone and named it Oakridge. Around day 100, Oakridge became part of a territory that would become well known on the server, the United Villages of Minecraft (UVMC). This began the tradition of players founding their own countries.

As more players joined, new countries appeared, including Solarin, founded by William81863 as the second country on the server. Later, after a quiet period during which ponchis201 built the UVMCN Bridge, a new generation of players joined and largely replaced the earlier one. This third generation brought Spanish speaking members who founded Spanish speaking countries, and Spanish came into common use alongside English.

Around day 3500 the community decided to move from Realms to a third party server, both to support a larger population and to prepare for a public launch. During the day 4000 celebration, ponchis201 introduced the Realm Hub, the server's first major non vanilla addition. To protect years of builds once the server went public, the team added a safezone system. Pantry's Realm opened to the public on August 31, 2026.

Gameplay

Pantry's Realm is described as semi-vanilla. Minecraft achievements are enabled, and the server states that all of its added features are achievement safe, meaning they avoid experimental toggles and cheats. The world runs on Hard difficulty.

There are no teleports. All movement is vanilla, so players rely on walking, boats, and infrastructure such as roads and bridges to cross long distances. Combat is enabled across the world and trapping other players is possible, so the server is not a purely peaceful build server. Safezones are intentionally rare and are meant for shared building, gathering and living rather than for general protection.

The Realm Hub

The Realm Hub is a menu driven interface built from Minecraft's native Bedrock UI panels. Introduced at the day 4000 celebration, it is where most activity outside of mining and building takes place. Players open it by typing /hub or by holding the bound Realm Hub item and sneaking once. The item cannot be dropped or lost and is returned on respawn.

The Hub groups the server's systems into sections:

Safezones and land

A safezone is a territory, or a subdivision of one, that has protection turned on. Builds that existed before the public release were safezoned to preserve the server's history, and new safezones can be granted to players who intend to build and share space with others.

Players claim land by selecting corners in the world. Two opposite corners form a box, and additional corners trace a free form shape, so territories can be L shaped or complex and can carry their own height range. A territory can be divided into plots, and plots into rooms, which can be sold, transferred or rented, with the system tracking overdue rent or tax. Owners grant build access through granular permissions covering actions such as breaking, placing, opening containers, handling entities, using fire and using TNT.

Inside a safezone, protections can include blocking outsider building, turning off player versus player combat, stopping hostile or all mob spawns, blocking explosions from creepers and outsider TNT, sealing fluids and pistons at the border, and optional anti theft rules for items and parked vehicles.

Combat

Combat is enabled everywhere except inside safezones, where player versus player fighting is switched off. When a player takes or lands a hit on another player, a combat timer runs for 20 seconds. While tagged, a player cannot build or interact inside safezones, even their own, and the timer is frozen while they stand in a safezone, so hiding does not end it. Logging out while tagged results in death, dropping the player's items where they stood.

For players who become genuinely trapped inside a zone they cannot leave, the Hub provides an Escape Safezone option that moves them just outside the nearest border. It is disabled during combat and carries a long cooldown.

Community

Pantry's Realm hosts an English and Spanish speaking community. The server tracks player "generations," and by its third generation a majority of active players were Spanish speakers, which led to the founding of Spanish speaking countries. ponStudios is the studio behind Pantry's Realm, and the team asks players to support it through donations in order to keep it free of pay-to-win.
